EUCEPA was founded in 1956 in Paris as a professional “non-profit-making organisation”. EUCEPA comprises 13 national technical associations of the pulp and paper industry in 14 European countries, the members of which are scientists, engineers, and technologists working in this and closely related industries.

The aim of EUCEPA is to provide a network for mutual co-operation and support between member Associations in the furtherance of their individual objectives. EUCEPA promote international co-operation among its member Associations and must only undertake those tasks which the member Associations themselves cannot perform alone. Wherever possible member associations co-ordinate the schedule of events in Europe and work together and/or with others to stage events of relevant interest.
