28 Feb. 2022. With the beginning of Russia's war against Ukraine, practically all Ukrainian pulp and paper companies have stopped production during the afternoon of 24 February.

This was announced by Eduard Litvak, Managing Director of the Ukrainian Pulp and Paper Industry Association UkrPapir, based in Kiev, upon request. Mr Litvak explained that the military operations taking place throughout the country had led to a breakdown of the logistics chains and to serious risks for all employees. Out of concern for the safety of the employees, the plants were temporarily closed.

According to Mr Litvak, no damage to production sites had been reported so far. "Ukr-Papir hopes for the help and support of all countries in the fight against Putin," he concludes.
