22 Sept. 2026: Bloomberg has reported that Essity is preparing to sell its Consumer Tissue business in the coming weeks – possibly as early as October – with industry players and private equity firms expected to be invited to bid.
The business, which produces a number of hygiene products, including toilet paper, tissues and napkins, under brands including Lotus, Tempo and Cushelle, is reported to be valued at €2.5 billion - €3 billion. It is anticipated that the transaction will be concluded during H1, 2027.
It is notable that Essity has not announced publicly a decision to sell the business.
The reported preparations follow the company's strategic review of Consumer Tissue, which was announced in May.
