25 Aug. 2026: Molded fiber is a specialized field, and much of its theoretical and practical knowledge has been learned inside companies, through production experience, supplier relationships, and hands-on problem-solving. For people entering the industry, that can make the learning curve steep.

IMFA (the International Molded Fiber Association) has taken a step forward with the launch of the IMFA Education Hub, a centralized home for molded fiber learning resources that go well beyond their longstanding Molded Fiber 101 page.

Inside the Education Hub, you will find:

  • Design guides for Types 1, 2, and 3, covering dimensions, tooling, materials, and performance.
  • Manufacturing guides that follow each method from pulping through forming, drying, and finishing.
  • Dynamic video overviews highlighting each method and what sets it apart.
  • An industry glossary, a working reference that aligns terminology across regions and disciplines.

This is a starting point for more shared learning across our industry, built by their Education Committee and members helping IMFA make technical education more accessible to the whole molded fiber community. Furthermore, theyn will keep adding more interactive features to it in the coming months.
