30 Apr. 2026: Saica Pack has commissioned a new £10 million warehouse in Hartlepool, strengthening its logistics capacity and footprint in Northeast England. The facility became fully operational in April 2026.
The site significantly expands storage and handling capabilities, with capacity for up to 9,000 pallets—more than double that of typical regional warehouses. The investment positions Hartlepool as a strategic hub for the company’s corrugated packaging operations, supporting both sheet and converted products.
Capacity and operational flexibility
The new warehouse is designed to support current volumes while accommodating future growth. Increased storage capacity is expected to improve supply chain flexibility and responsiveness to customer demand across the UK.
The facility also includes dedicated space for logistics teams and driver rest areas, aimed at improving coordination and day-to-day efficiency.
Focus on energy and sustainability
The site integrates solar panels capable of supplying up to 10% of its energy needs. This contributes to reducing operational emissions and aligns with Saica’s broader sustainability objectives.
Regional role and industry presence
Saica said the investment supports ongoing industrial activity and employment in the region, while reinforcing its manufacturing and logistics footprint in Northeast England.
The company is also scheduled to participate in a regional business event in early May, where it will highlight its operations and sustainability initiatives.
Saica Group is a European producer of recycled paper for corrugated packaging, with operations spanning paper production, packaging and waste management services.
