9 Feb. 2026: The EWLP conference is a biennial scientific event that brings together researchers, students, and industry representatives to discuss the latest advances in lignocellulose research. Organized by the Institute of Chemistry of Renewable Resources at BOKU University, the conference returns to the Austrian capital after 20 years, following the last meeting in 2006.
Abstract Submission is now open at Oxford Abstracts https://app.oxfordabstracts.com/auth?redirect=/stages/81333/submitter

As in previous conferences, the conference will again cover a wide range of topics, including wood chemistry, lignocellulose structures, analytical techniques, biorefinery technologies, green chemistry, and biotechnological approaches to the production of new materials and products. Initial information can be found on the homepage at https://www.ewlp2026.org/, with further meeting data to be announced on an ongoing basis. As always, the EWLP promises to be a highly interesting meeting covering the entire spectrum of lignocellulose research. This year, for the first time, it will deliberately cross the borders of the European Research Community and also welcome scientists from Japan and the USA.
In addition to plenary lectures, we’ll run a single-track format (no parallel sessions).
We’ll present prizes for posters and PhD lectures, and offer special issues in renowned journals.
EWLP will also feature a memorable evening program—this year celebrating dance (don’t worry, not only the waltz!) and Austrian specialties.
We look forward to welcoming you all to the EWLP – for scientific exchange, professional discussions, and the establishment of collaborations, as well as for cultivating old friendships, initiating new ones, and sharing happy moments together.
See you next year in September in Vienna,
Thomas Rosenau and Antje Potthast,
on behalf of the EWLP2026 organizing committee and the Institute of Chemistry of Renewable Resources
