31 Jan. 2026: AFRY further strengthened its position among the world’s leading engineering and design companies in the 2025 Engineering News-Record (ENR) rankings, securing several top-tier placements across key industrial and energy sectors.

In the latest ENR Global Sourcebook, AFRY once again ranked number one worldwide in Pulp & Paper, confirming its long-standing leadership in the sector. The company also improved its position in Hydropower, rising to third place, and entered the top ten in Solar generation for the first time, achieving ninth place. In the broader sector-specific rankings, AFRY placed sixth overall in both Industrial Processes and Power, while recording multiple top-ten results across a wide range of sub-categories.

“These results reflect our dedication to unlocking transitions towards a sustainable and resilient society. We work side by side with our clients to accelerate the transitions – whether it’s about decarbonising industries, expanding the use of renewable energy or strengthening the resilience of societies,” said Linda Pålsson, President and CEO of AFRY.

The ENR Global Sourcebook and its annual rankings are widely regarded as a benchmark for the global engineering and construction industry, assessing international companies based on sector-specific revenues generated outside their home markets in the previous year.

Within Industrial Processes, AFRY maintained its sixth-place overall ranking while confirming leading positions across multiple sub-segments. The company ranked first in Pulp & Paper, third in Food & Beverage, fifth in Pharmaceuticals, seventh in Chemicals (non-petroleum) as well as in Steel and Non-Ferrous Metals, ninth in Auto Assembly Plants and tenth in Mining, underscoring its broad industrial expertise.

In the Power category, where AFRY also ranked sixth overall, the company achieved second place in Cogeneration and third in Hydro, alongside a fourth-place ranking in Operations & Maintenance. Additional top-ten positions were recorded in Wind generation, Solar generation and Transmission & Distribution, each ranking ninth, reflecting AFRY’s strong contribution to the energy transition and growing demand for advanced engineering and design capabilities.

AFRY stated that its performance in the 2025 ENR rankings highlighted both the trust placed in the company by its clients worldwide and its role in supporting industrial and energy transitions through sustainable engineering solutions.
