23 Jan. 2026: Germany-based Wepa Group has announced the acquisition of French tissue manufacturer MPH1865 to strengthen its market position in France.

The company said customers and partners would benefit from Wepa’s acquisition of MPH1865 (formerly MP Hygiène), particularly through the group’s reinforced presence in the French away-from-home market and its broad hygiene product portfolio. Completion of the acquisition is subject to the relevant regulatory approvals.

MPH’s current president, Marc Miribel, will remain president of the company, which is headquartered in Davézieux in southern France, the statement said.

Andreas Krengel, Chief Commercial Officer of the Wepa Group, commented: “By joining forces with MPH1865, we will create added value for our national and international customers through broader expertise and even more innovative product solutions. This step will enable us to serve our markets with greater proximity, flexibility and reliability.”

Founded in 1865, MPH1865 employs around 260 people and produces up to 60,000 tpy of tissue products, according to the information provided. The Wepa Group employs around 4,300 people at 14 sites across Europe and has a total tissue production capacity of up to 850,000 tpy.
