21 Mar. 2025: Norske Skog will commission the rebuilt recycled corrugated case material machine at its Golbey mill in France in April. This is a little later later than most recently announced. The PM was scheduled to come online at the end of March.
Norske Skog points out that the first deliveries to customers will take place in April. Finalising the pre-commissioning at the containerboard machine is the main outstanding item before the project is completed and production can start, the company says. "Although the final work has taken slightly longer than expected, we look forward to start deliveries of containerboard to our customers shortly,” commented the group's CEO Geir Drangsland.
There is reportedly no change in the budget for the project.
The paper machine was rebuilt from newsprint to recycled corrugated case material production in the past years and has a capacity of 550,000 tpy. The Golbey mill houses a second machine, which makes newsprint and has a capacity of 330,000 tpy.
